“SCHOOL OF WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT AND LEADERSHIP IN THE APARAN COMMUNITY” project

The aim of the program was to increase the awareness and engagement level of at least 20 women and girls aged 18-35 from the Aparan community in local self-government (LSG), community life organization, and decision-making processes. It was aimed at fostering partnership relations between the women of the community and the municipality, thus contributing to the active participation of women in local democratic processes.

The main results are: around 20 women from the Aparan community have been informed about the structure, functions, and participatory mechanisms of the LSG. Their participation in community meetings-discussions, public hearings, and municipal council sessions was ensured. Long-term cooperation opportunities between the municipality and young women have been created.

The program was implemented by ALTERA LAB NGO within the framework of the "Active Civil Society" (ACS) program of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
